Stamp Daily

Hi! Happy first week of January, 2017. I hope it’s an amazingly wonderful start to our year. And, I hope everyone chooses to take time to do something they enjoy. Every day! Even if for a few minutes. I plan to stamp daily. Even if I stamp some ink around on my desk pad. Here’s a quick play for today — first (top) & second (bottom) generation stampings of the floral image from Floral Phrases by Stampin’ Up! I used only 2 dye ink markers and some water. The 2nd gen version I spritzed with Glimmer Mist before stamping. Not a card. Yet. May you enjoy your day! And, thanks for peeking! 🙂 #handstamped #stampinup #floralphrases #watercolorstamping #cansonmixedmediapaper #stampdaily

Fussy Stamping, Worth the Time

Although I’ve had this Sizzix Tim Holtz Season’s Greetings stamp & die set in my stash for years & played with it a few times, this is my first happy outcome. One ink color for the whole image is beautiful. Coloring onto the stamp is a fussy process for me. But, it was worth it for my die cut pieces. Lovely plum & green inks on creamy & speckly Neenah Environmental Tortilla cardstock. Thanks for peeking! #handmadecard #sizzixtimholtzseasonsgreetings

Gift Card Holder Using Scraps

What a fun way to use bits of yummy patterned paper. This quick gift card holder is also the perfect way to make a favorite gorgeous ribbon be the focal point, should you wish. I totally CASE’D (copy and share everything) Kristina Werner’s design. Who doesn’t? She’s amazing (@starofmay). Although she’s done several of these through the years, this design was from her 2012 Holiday Series, I believe. It starts with a 4.25×7″ base, scored on the long side at 1.25″ and 4.5″. I used just 2 Tiny Attacher staples to secure the gift card pocket. So quick & sweet. I’m thankful for crafty, inspiring, lovely, sharers of talent! #handmade #christmascard #yayforcraftyfriends

Lettuce Note

Hi! Yes. That’s lettuce. I basically squeezed the clorophyll from some leaves to stain some mixed media paper. I couldn’t forage for foliage outside today, but I had to try this technique (“duoprinting with chlorophyll”) shared by #understandblue. So, I had some spring mix lettuces. Wish I would have flipped horizontal the top leaf, but it was so very fun! Can’t wait to collect some local flora and do some more!! Thanks Lydia @ understandblue.blogspot.com for sharing & inspiring! #handmadecard #cooltechnique

Ink Smooshed Tree

Day 28 of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge. Today, my coloring was distress ink smooshing just the tree on distress watercolor paper. Did not do the background as I was short on time–it’s patterned paper. I find it inspiring, though. 😊 I’m not so much a glitter person, but enjoyed free-cutting a few snow drifts & topping them with distress glitter. Distressed edges of pattern paper layer. Will look forward to more time to color tomorrow. In the meantime, I appreciate today. Thanks for peeking! #thedailymarker30day

Sending Hugs

Day 27 of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge. Our 30 days are flying by! I found it interesting that I also colored this image for the last coloring challenge (July) and without looking back first, I used the same color for the scarf. Green. 💚 Image & sentiment: From the Heart Stamps. Zig watercolor markers & Canson mixed media paper. Fun! Thanks for peeking! 🤗#thedailymarker30day

More Peace Love Joy, Please

Day 26 of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge. Just enough time today to color these cute penguins from Bugaboo Stamps. It was part of a batch meant to go on Bristol Smooth, but ending up on Neenah Solar White 110lb. Both awesome papers, but a surprise when expecting water to move on it. In our dry climate, for sure, water pulls straight in. I found a light layer of black prismacolor followed by a bit of black Inktense & water for the penguins added a little interest. Happy Day! 💙 🐧💙#thedailymarker30day

Revisited Snowy, Starry Night

Day 25 of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge. Prismacolors on kraft for a different look on the same digital image colored for Day 23. With all the choices of medium, there is something comforting about colored pencils. I also stepped outside my comfort zone to outline the images. Really fun! Hard to see sparkly stars amidst the snow. Thx for peeking! 💙 #thedailymarker30day
