Papercrafting — This can mean so many things. It can bring out the best in creativity, feelings, creative therapy, reflection, expression, fixing of flubs, simplicity, complexity, sharing, inspiration, outcomes. The journey. This last one, the journey . . . it’s a good one as it encompasses all the other bits and pieces along the way.
Papercrafting — or “Paper Crafting” from Wikipedia — “involves a wide and varied mixture of several different hand on skills that people use to create one, two or three-dimensional objects in paper and card stock.” Papercrafting is commonly identified as Scrapbooking, Cardmaking, Stamping, Paper Flowers, Paper Cutting, Paper Layering, Paper Piecing, and so much more.
The article goes on to say “Paper and card stock are the most widely used base material for all of these crafts because they lend themselves to a wide range of techniques including bending, folding, curving, cutting, painting, creasing, gluing, embellishing and even sewing and stitching.”
Additionally, papercrafts span the globe – “known in most societies that use paper, with certain kinds of crafts being particularly associated with specific countries or cultures.” So, papercrafting is universal.
Thank you for sharing your crafty journey with me! Happy Papercrafting!
