Hello World! I hope all are well. So much has happened in the world since my last post. Keeping it crafty in this space & wherever & whenever & however I can. Even if only in small spurts.
While working my day jobs (plural) & life keep me truly busy, I do find time to craft daily & share creativity. Sharing creativity is why I’m back to blogging. I’ve been finding ways to share my vast array of supplies & love of techniques & some fun projects lately! We’ve been having card making workshops in places like retirement communities, our local university’s continuing education program, and most recently a table at a large conference & a session at a veteran group home. My goal is to use my surplus of supplies & share with others (in most cases, at no cost to them). I find my joy each & every time I get to do this thing. From the time we start creating where people often say they are not at all creative to the time they walk away with a completed card or papercrafted project or two – it’s magic. I love that people help each other with the new techniques they’ve just learned. I love the crafty messes we make in large groups together. I love the connections made and introducing people to card making and stamping and die cuts and tools and a myriad of fun techniques.
To be a better sharer of creativity and an educator, even, of my crafty passions, I am also pursuing the Altenew Educator Certification Program (AECP) link to AECP page — per #Altenew, this is a “formal educational platform that allows crafters of all skill levels to achieve their crafting goals. This first-of-its-kind program has been helping crafters worldwide specialize in their craft while rediscovering their love of crafting and spreading that love through the art of teaching.” Even though I’m jumping into the #AECP very slowly, I look forward to building on my skills & enthusiasm to create great projects & papercrafting workshops! Part of this is also blogging and/or sharing online in various ways . . . so, I started up my blog again. It will always be a work-in-progress.
Thank you so much for stopping by! 🙂
The card project below was made to celebrate a special birthday. It’s 4-bar – or 3.5×5″ – in size. I used a beautiful layering stampset from Altenew called Watercolor Wonders (link here). I find layering stamps to be challenging, but this set is very forgiving. I gold heat-embossed the sentiment and also around the edges of the 3.25×4.75″ top panel (Neenah Tortilla Environment Smooth 80lb cover). The card base is white heavyweight (100lb) card stock.
