Friend, You Mean the World to Me

papernummies_friend-raspberry01aFlip cards are fun. Flip-it style cards pull open from the sides, thus flipping the front sentiment over to reveal the inside sentiment. When flipped open, the inside of the card is flat. Wonder how it’s done? Various ways of cutting range from hand-done to electronic cutting software/machines. I’m in the middle with a few of my most-loved tools — a steel die and hand-cranked cutting machine.

Vertical & dimensional “FRIEND” (HeroArts) banner and inside “you mean the world to me” (Sizzix) sentiments are stamped in raspberry ink to match the “Flowering Fields” flowers, foliage & butterfly. Latter images ©StampinUp! (“Flowering Fields” stamp set.) Raspberry cotton ribbon is tied with a bit of linen thread. Also, did some signature edge-sponging in same dye ink. 🙂

A sweet card! Thanks for stopping by!

PS. Continuing to brave my Etsy shop. — Thanks! Some more!

Wintery Card for a Challenge

Hi! Mojo Monday sketch 418 inspired the layout of this wintery card. I have browsed through sketches in the past, but have never used one directly. Besides, why not participate in a challenge?

Dry embossed snowflakes in the background invite glitter & velum flakes to drift in front. I may never tire of my Hero Arts Tree Trunk background stamp. The trees provide the perfect perch for a sweet wooden bird. I used VersaMagic ink and Neenah cardstock (Desert Storm for the card base & alternating layer and Solar White for all else).

Thanks for the inspiration, Mojo Monday. Happy day to all!

Good Morning Glory

What a beautiful overcast day it is here in the Land of Enchantment. Not to mention crisp fall air with a hot air balloon or two in the sky. Gorgeous!

Tucked out of the way where not many will see, these bright fellas are beaming. Attention grabbers!

Beauty in nature abounds. Variations of pink are lush. The delicate wisps of purple brushed on each petal we strive to recreate. Green does not go unnoticed.

Thankful, I am.
